Remote Work

Digital Nomad in Poland: Remote Work Guide 2026

Poland is an increasingly practical digital nomad destination within Europe. The Schengen 90-day allowance applies to most nationalities, and EU citizens can stay and work indefinitely. Costs are significantly lower than Western Europe — Kraków and Wrocław in particular offer a strong quality of life at roughly half the price of comparable cities in Germany or Austria.

Internet infrastructure is solid in all major cities. Co-working space density is highest in Warsaw, but Kraków, Wrocław, and Gdańsk all have viable options. The time zone (UTC+1/UTC+2 in summer) aligns well with European clients, and Poland is within easy reach of most European cities for occasional travel. Non-EU nomads need to track their Schengen days carefully — the 90/180-day rule applies.

Visa & Practicalities

Schengen Visa Rules

Poland is a full Schengen member. Non-EU citizens from visa-exempt countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia etc.) can stay 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen area — not just Poland. EU citizens can work and stay indefinitely. No digital nomad visa exists, but a D-visa (national long-stay) can be applied for through Polish consulates.

SIM Cards

Plus and Play have the best 4G/5G coverage nationally. Orange and T-Mobile are solid alternatives. Buy at any mobile operator store with your passport. Monthly SIM plans with 20–100 GB data typically cost PLN 25–50 ($6–13). eSIM options (Airalo) are available at comparable prices.

Internet & Coworking

Café Wi-Fi in cities typically runs 50–200 Mbps. Dedicated coworking spaces charge approximately PLN 60–120 ($15–30) for a day pass, PLN 500–1,200 ($125–300) for a monthly desk. Warsaw has the most options (Brain Embassy, MeetDistrict, Carbon Hub). Kraków's best spaces cluster in Kazimierz and the Old Town area.

Getting Around

PKP Intercity trains connect Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, and Poznań in 2–4 hours. Within cities, trams are the main mode — cheap, efficient, and extensive in Warsaw, Kraków, and Wrocław. Bolt and Uber operate in all major cities. Car hire useful only for rural and mountain excursions.
