The Wroclaw Good Beer Festival is Poland’s leading dedicated craft beer event and one of the most respected beer festivals in Central Europe. Held at Wroclaw’s Centennial Hall — a UNESCO-listed modernist structure from 1913 — the three-day event brings together Polish microbreweries and international producers, ranging from local Silesian craft operations to well-regarded names from Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the UK.
Note on 2027 dates: The festival is held in mid-June each year. Dates of 18–20 June 2027 are estimated based on the established annual pattern; check the official website (festiwaldobregopiwa.pl) for confirmed 2027 dates when announced, typically in early spring.
The Craft Beer Scene in Poland
Poland’s craft beer movement has grown rapidly since around 2012 and now numbers several hundred microbreweries operating across the country. Wroclaw has been a particular hub of this growth, with a concentration of craft breweries and tap rooms in the city that rivals any equivalent scene in Western Europe. The Good Beer Festival grew out of this local enthusiasm and reflects the seriousness with which Polish craft brewers approach their work.
What to Expect at the Festival
Entry to the festival is ticketed, with a glass included in the entrance fee. Inside, breweries are arranged across the interior and exterior spaces of the Centennial Hall complex, each pouring their own selection of beers. The emphasis is on variety: expect IPAs, sours, stouts, lagers, wheat beers, and seasonal and experimental styles alongside more traditional Polish styles. Tasting portions (approximately 100-150ml) allow you to try a wide range across the three days.
Food stalls are well integrated into the site, with a higher standard than at many comparable events. Live music runs across the evenings. The combination of the Centennial Hall’s architectural setting, the craft beer variety, and the generally knowledgeable crowd makes this a genuinely enjoyable event even if craft beer is not your primary focus.
The Centennial Hall Setting
The Hala Stulecia (Centennial Hall) was built in 1913 for the centenary of the defeat of Napoleon at Leipzig. It was a pioneering example of reinforced concrete architecture and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The adjacent Pergola and fountain complex are among the most photogenic spots in Wroclaw, and on festival evenings the whole area is animated by crowds, lighting, and live music. Even if you spend only a few hours at the festival, the setting makes the visit worthwhile.
Getting There
Wroclaw is well connected by direct trains from Warsaw (approximately 3.5-4 hours), Krakow (approximately 3 hours), and Berlin (approximately 3 hours). The Centennial Hall is in the Szczytnicki Park district, accessible from the Old Town by tram (approximately 15 minutes). See our Wroclaw guide for accommodation options and more on the city.
For a broader introduction to Wroclaw before or after the festival, a Wroclaw Old Town and Dwarfs walking tour covers the historic market square, the famous bronze dwarf figures scattered across the city, and the key architectural highlights — a good contrast to an afternoon spent in the modernist Centennial Hall.
